Remember the other week when there was a thing about how Sean Hannity’s popularity was going down the tubes? Ratings cut in half, that sort of thing? This discusses the matter, but I found it exceedingly odd. Yes, Hannity sucks, but he sucks the same now as he did five months ago. I must admit it took me off guard. So why would his audience turn on him so suddenly and violently? It dawned on me that his backing immigration reform might be part of it, but it turns out that the wingers are still really pissed off that he dared criticize famed pro-life hero of conscience Todd Akin. Quoth Conservapedia:

Hannity claimed that Akin should consider withdrawing from the Senate race: “I think there is one political reality that I think has to be faced by you and your campaign … Democrats now have a ton of ammunition and they are now going to try to use these remarks to hurt everybody they can. And if I was put in that position, I would at least be thinking about what is in the best interest of the party.”[1]

True conservatives stood with principle and defended Akin’s remarks, and his right to remain in the race.[2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10]

Believe it or not, that’s an exact “objective” passage. Conservapedia is notable for asserting opinions (often ones even debatable from a conservative point of view) as no different from verifiable facts. Hannity is summarized thus: “He affects a conservative voice, but revealed his true colors as a RINO backer when he participated in the media bullying of Todd Akin in August 2012.”

Incidentally, while I won’t link, Conservapedia is a very fascinating site. If you have guests this weekend, I recommend devising games around it. For example, I made a wager with my wife as to where in the article on Barack Obama the birther discussion would commence, and how long the section would be. I was proven correct.
