I wrote on this a couple of years ago and just wanted to revisit what I find to be one of the most fascinating mysteries in astronomy and cosmology today.  As I noted in my earlier post:

Patches of matter in the universe [i.e. galaxy clusters] seem to be moving at very high speeds and in a uniform direction that can’t be explained by any of the known gravitational forces in the observable universe. Astronomers are calling the phenomenon “dark flow.” The stuff that’s pulling this matter must be outside the observable universe, researchers conclude…

Look up again at that image I posted above.  You see that big clump of galaxies that appear immediately down and between the prominent blue and yellow stars?  That whole inconceivably enormous mass of stars, galaxies, dark matter, etc. is all being pulled toward some kind of mass/phenomenon at a speed of a million miles per hour that is just outside our observable universe.
