Ok, so I’m obviously a lawyer nerd and this kind of stuff naturally turns me on.  But in all seriousness, I really think you need to print out the judge’s opinion that struck down anti-marriage equality Proposition 8 in California and read it in all its glory.  I’ve been curled up with a copy of it at bedtime and it just keeps getting better and better (especially the parts that absolutely eviscerate any claims of credibility for the anti-marriage equality witnesses).  The opinion is very approachable from a layperson’s perspective, as many non-lawyer bloggers have been pointing out all day today.
