So I was watching Saturday Night Live a while back (mostly to see Ryan Phillippe hosting in all his gloriousness) and saw a couple songs by this girl Ke$ha. I admit the music is a bit trashy but she had a great stage performance and the songs were kinda catchy. I especially dig her faux Cali high-school-girl affect on some of the lyrics. I'll bashfully admit I downloaded from itunes the two songs she played on SNL earlier this year. There is nothing wrong with trashy from time to time.
you saw it too eh? wasn't ryan phillippe dreamy? i always forget he has such a deep manly voice :) . I thought both of ke$ha's performances on that episode were great. especially because i never think of what would otherwise be considered club music actually being sung LIVE!
update: and i got the sense from watching her that she was quite a smart cookie. seems so:
