damn, just one more way i am "of the devil"
Indeed, this happened to me in Catholic school! However, my experience was way more traumatic than this caricature depicts. When I was in the 3rd grade, that's 8 years old, the nuns would tie my left arm behind me on my chair so I would not even try to write or use my "evil" hand for anything! Needless to say, I failed practically every subject that year, because I was unable to write with my right hand, so what I handed in was chicken scratch, which was not acceptable. Since my hand was tied behind my back onto the chair, I was unable to get up, making it very difficult to go to the bathroom, ending in many very embarrasing moments. They had the nerve to say my left handedness was of the "devil" as they tortured an 8 year old girl every day for over a year? I'd rather stay with my "evil" left handedness than ever even think of doing anything remotely similar to what they did to me!
Glad I can laugh about it now, and I certainly hope they don't do that today!
