I’m not usually a big fan of Blondie McMydadsasenator Meghan McCain but this little set of nuggets from her appearance on The View on the subject of teabaggers is delicious.

“It’s innate racism, and I think it’s why young people are turned off by this movement,” McCain retorted on The View.

“I’m sorry, but revolutions start with young people, not 65 year old people talking about literacy tests and people who can’t say the word ‘vote’ in English,” McCain added.

McCain, a self-described “progressive Republican,” criticized Palin’s assertion that President Obama could get himself re-elected to a second term if he launched a war against Iran.

“You should never go to war unless its the absolute last circumstance,” McCain said.

As for Palin’s defense of Rush Limbaugh for using the word “retard” after calling for White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel’s resignation over the same word last week, McCain said it was a symbol of “exactly what is wrong with politics today.

“We can’t placate and say Democrats can say one thing and Republicans can say another thing,” she said.

McCain added that the rhetoric coming from the Tea Party movement and from Republicans like Palin “will continue to turn off young voters, and anybody who says different is smoking something.”

Too bad she didn’t wind up and clock Elizabeth Hasselbeck on her way out.

I dont know why she's shy about just leaving the Republican party, just because dad will be embarrassed? Ron Reagan (from air america) did it, nothing bad happens.

it's all gotta be about marketing. i'm sure she gets more bookings as an iconoclast Republican than she would as just another Dem. not to mention the fact that her dad is a senile old sociopath who would probably scream at her for weeks over the switch. etc. also.

I was watching this and I actually did a fist pump when she said all that stuff. I thought it was so great, I gave her a break on the snarky comment about Obama having to use a teleprompter to talk to a sixth grade class. I can't wait for her book to come out. I have a feeling we'll hear more from her after that hits the fan..oops…I meant to say shelves, after her book hits the shelves :)

So far she can say what she wants, who is actually going to kick her out? Her dad is one of the few left there with part of a brain. If he got mad and left who would turn out the lights?
