I took this a while back, and am further toward the liberal end, and less libertarian. I saw it at Mule Dung and Ash, a blogger who's pretty close to where you plot. Don't know if you read that one, but if not, you might enjoy a look.

This looks to be pretty similar to the Political Compass: <a href="http://www.politicalcompass.org/” target=”_blank”>http://www.politicalcompass.org/ who also makes graphs of various candidates.

What's remarkable to me is that successful candidates tend to trend along a line from Liberterian/Left (Liberterian on these graphs meaning social policy, not economic -- that's important) to Authoritarian/Right -- a reasonably accurate representation of the national political field in the US and a trend that gives lie to the "smaller government and less meddling" claim from the right. Even more interesting is that the trend is displayed in other countries too. There are notable outliers, but by and large it's a good fit.

Different people like different types of meddling, and politicians are happy to cater to either taste.

Congratulations, you've discovered why politics and government suck.

While I believe that all drug use should be legalized, If you are of age to use legal hard drugs the state will provide then for your use. After all hard drugs kill and you will be dead in about ten years. I also believe that anyone who would sell their drug script to anyone under the legal age of use, if convicted, should be executed. You can go to hell anyway you want but you are not allowed to take anyone with you.

In other words the survey does not go into enough depth to register core political beliefs, it is a amusing surface reader. I also support a persons right to carry a gun, but that we should quite plea bargaining the weapons charge. A gun is a tool, a inanimate object, the user determines if the tool is used properly and legally. Drunk driving is an intentional act not a accident and should be dealt with as such. Just a few areas where I differ with most liberals.
