After evaluating the deluge of requests to guest blog at Library Grape (chuckle), I’ve decided to welcome a good friend of the blog to pen his wisdom and witticisms while I’m away on vacation.

I hope you will all join me in welcoming guest blogger Gherald to the Library Grape family.

Many of you will recognize him from the comments section here and his regular declarations of undying love for Megan McArdle and his rampant suspicion of all things related to the government. I have gotten to know him over the past many months from his posts at his blog (even yet another blag) and am deeply grateful for his deciding to come on board and offer us his views and perspective.

Suffice it to say, Gherald and I don’t see eye-to-eye on every issue (most notably on health care reform) but I’ve found him to be of the generally good-hearted sort and think he’ll add an intriguing perspective to the menu of views here at Library Grape. On a lot of the major issues of the day — such as atheism, gay marriage, and the various ways in which Premier Bush fucked this country — you’ll find that his head is in the right place. On other matters, I hope you’ll try your best to show him the light :).

Thanks again to Gherald for joining the team. All I ask is that you don’t get me into too much trouble while I’m away.

Oy vey. Megan's generally worth reading, but this overstates things a tad! Haha.

I'd also replace 'rampant' with 'healthy'… *poke, poke*

But thanks a lot for having me on to bloggysit. Now I just need to work out how to cause trouble without it being 'too much'…… ;-)

We do not march in lockstep as the Bush/Cheney worshipers do but we thrive on intellectual debate and the exchange of ideas. The most we agree on is the right to civilly disagree with out the polarizing name calling and idealistic entrenchment so common in today’s world. And as always Gherald will make us think.
