(0 comments)I finally just watched this video of the press conference where Sarah Palin announced she’s resigning as Governor of Alaska. (Edit: For the full length video, check out Lockwood’s blog)
I really can’t describe how loony she sounds. This presser was obviously thrown together at the last minute. Was she drunk? This thing just gets weirder and weirder the more I look at it.

It’s amazing to me that Mitt Romney brings up France as a scary comparison point to himself so often when he spent years there and speaks the language. It’s such a minor point, but telling. Alright, she is stepping down, I get that. And I can agree that it is mostly the best thing she can do for Alaska. But why is she doing this now? It would have played better when she was running as VP. You know the old story about how you cannot serve two masters at the same time. We are just left waiting for the other shoe to drop.
the republican party I think, is now just a circus…
Nah, circuses are very organized. It's simulated chaos. The republican party is, more aptly described, a clusterf*ck.
but they have elephants too, circus! haha
What would be messed up is if she ran unopposed as the GOP frontrunner in '12 (or at least was a shoe-in)
Well, yes and no. Unless the Demarcates ran Goofy she would still only take 35% of the vote, max. The good old boys in the GOP are not going to support her.
You have tasted less than 10% of the loonieness if that clip is all you've watched… it went on for 19 minutes. Surreal doesn't even begin to describe it. I've posted the whole speech herethe whole speech here, but be prepared to be mindbroken and heartboggled.
