I was chatting with my ex earlier today and somehow came across the notion of describing myself as a chameleon with no natural color. I think of it as a metaphor for someone who, at least socially, needs the colors of others (e.g., in terms of interests, activities, etc.) in order to express a color of his own.
It’s an interesting idea I was thinking of exploring. Anyone ever come across a metaphor like that before? I thought it would make a good children’s book or something.

Politico parodies itself (via): The Senate, once the chamber of deliberation and reason, is getting its own extreme makeover. Moderates such as Maine Republican Olympia Snowe and Democrat Ben Nelson are bolting an institution that barely resembles the one they entered as idealistic deal makers. Ben Nelson? Idealistic dealmaker? These are words that should not be in the ... (1 comments)Despicable Quote of the Day - Icky Gay Sexytime Is A Threat To National Security

Mississippi: A Shining Example Of Limited Government
Ah, the land of Mississippi – that shining bastion of God-fearing, limited-government conservatism. Well, unless you want to father illegitimate babies — then the government will throw you in jail. Part of that is almost certainly a stalled, ailing economy, but what’s sort of interesting because a big part of their drop is due to implementing a cap on charitable deductions, which is essentially what Obama wanted to do here to cut ... Connecticut ends the practice. I have to say, this is one of those social movements that is regularly winning big victories, but almost nobody seems to be paying attention. The Santorum Has Officially Been Mopped Up In The 2012 Race
I think this gets it right. Additionally, though, while I find Rick Santorum’s beliefs to be pretty risible, and his inability to accept that his ideas had some less-than-ideal results during the ’00s is a personal failing, but at the very least he seemed to possess some sense of personal honor and integrity. yeah think about it some more then get back to us :P
Ever watch the old Woody Allen movie "Zelig?" The idea is much the same, though I don't remember that phrase. I do think it would make a good kid's book though, especially if you could target it towards ~12-15 age group, when identity issues become so important.
I've always said I don't ask much of people except that they have a passion for something, and I think the reasons are much the same; it's hard for me to be interested in someone who has no interests.
By all means be politically correct, bland, take no stand, have no ideas, and then bitch about how everything has gone to hell in a hand basket while you could not be bothered. Sounds like a lot of the people who could vote but then can’t be bothered.
I think a higher percentage of bloggers may be introverts, thus I'm guessing you are. .. An introvert with an extremely rich inner life and capable of intense introspection, contemplation, and ideas. It's typical for introverts to need the social/activity skills that come so easily to extroverted types; just as the "know thyself and thy inner world" skills of the introvert are incredibly useful to the extrovert if they avail themselves of them. Takes a tribe….
