So the WaPo has a new poll out on Sarah Palin:

Overall, the new poll found that 53 percent of Americans view Palin negatively and 40 percent see her in positive terms, her lowest level in Post-ABC polling since she first appeared on the national stage last summer as Sen. John McCain’s running mate.
The thing that jumps out at me from these numbers is that 40% of respondents see her in positive terms. 40%!? Seriously??

I mean, I can understand the reliable 20-25% of the country who think the duly elected President of the United States is a gay terrorist illegal alien Nazi who routinely drinks the blood of Christian babies and sodomizes the corpse of Jesus… But 40%!?

Were that to be taken as a representative sample of the total American population, that means that 120 MILLION PEOPLE hold a favorable view of quite possibly the most inept, dangerous and polarizing national politician in recent memory.

Could 120 million people really be so blind as to gaze upon the endless drama, prideful ignorance, rampant insanity and personified embarrassment that is Sarah Palin with anything other than instinctive disgust?

Seriously, what the fuck is wrong with people?

I dont 'view' her either way, I just dont think she should in charge of any type of public office, but I dont see her negatively, shes just very confused :)

    • Metavirus says:

oh now cmon, i wont let you get away with that. if you can't form an opinion about sarah palin one way or the other, i fear for a decision on the important question of whole wheat vs. rye. feh

      ;)

      • Kevin says:

I just dont think stupidity should be punishable by hate :P

I dont know I guess im just tired of the obsession about her, I just feel indifferent about her

it would take a lot more for me to see her negatively

  2. Metavirus says:

You don't need hate to evaluate what someone has to offer and viewthem negatively. What level of evidence do you need to simply viewsomeone negatively? Is it a Bush level? Hitler? Idi Amin? KirstinDunst?

    • Kevin says:

I think its just that I seperate the political and the personal.
do I view her politics as dumb and reactionary, yes.
do I think shes a bad person, no.

maybe Im just too kind, I dont wanna dislike anyone :)

      • Metavirus says:

yes, you are too kind. if you can't bring yourself to dislike sarah palin, i couldn't imagine who you'd actually dislike :)

        • schu says:

I do not really did like her either, but then I also don’t believe she should even be the president of a PTA let alone be in politics. If I want to spread my displeasure it would be on the people who want to promote and then control her as she gains more popularity.

  3. PChun says:

She who does not know, and thinks she knows…this is a fool, shun her. This foolish arrogant person was costumed, paraded and sold to the Republicans by MASTER McSalespeople (many of whom deeply regret it now). They could sell river rocks as pets and convince millions to buy them….indeed they have. I think they simply and brilliantly identified a block of low-information-few-facts gullible people and snowed them. Unfortunately, many of these same manipulated folks are still ignorantly devoted to their pet rock and wishing it could be their president, or lover, or friend, or fishing buddy. People are still gobbling up the utter toxic crap that advertisers portray as good nutritious food, and get defensively mad if you try to replace that crap with something that's truly nutritious. I don't think her devotees exist because of rational thought processes, so don't look for answers there. It's sales, baby. Sales.

  4. schu says:

Over forty percent of the populace doesn’t think they react to their emotions. Otherwise Fox News, Sarah P. and others would not hold sway. Most of her supporters do not understand the issues that’s why she resonates with them.
