Here’s a nice quote from one of my other favorite online conservatives, Daniel Larison, on Obama’s public reactions to the Iran uprising:

[Obama] has so far acted the part of something very much like a responsible statesman. He has not acted like a glory-hounding demagogue who would rather appease his domestic audience with tough-sounding rhetoric that works to harm American interests throughout the region.
His whole article on the necon struggle against realism is worth reading.

Update: Bonus related quote from Matt Yglesias:

Max Bergmann did an excellent post on just this subject last summer, saying that John McCain had a tendency to act more like a pundit than a president. I think that’s exactly right. And today you’re seeing some rightwing pundits getting mad because Obama is acting like a president rather than like a pundit.

The angry response and finger pointing are standard GOP responses. Always remember that one of the GOP’s major goal s is to see our president fail. Hence they will use any kind of argument to achieve this goal. Regardless of the cost to our country.
