C&L rounds up some disturbing celebrating on the hard-right anti-choice front:

Steve Deace:

Are babies today in Kansas safer today than they were yesterday while George Tiller was alive and still taking in oxygen. Yeah, is the answer to the question. Maybe the fact that we have a lawless society that has not protected these babies from this infanticide created the Scott Roeders of the world, who in very John Brown-like fashion, illegally took matters into his own hands. Saying that if the system will not deal with an evil, then to Hell with the system.

David Leach:

Leach said when human law conflicts with God’s Laws, “we ought to obey God rather than man.”

He will not “advocate” that anyone go out and kill someone who performs abortions, but his “mind remains open on the question.”

“So while I am waiting for more dialogue, I must say that so far, the Bible discussion I have seen overwhelmingly supports anyone willing to sacrifice everything in order to physically stop an abortionist from killing thousands of babies,” he said.

Leach is no stranger to controversy. In the mid-90s, Leach’s association with the accused killer of a Florida abortion doctor helped persuade U.S. marshals to guard the Planned Parenthood clinic in Des Moines.

The Prayer and Action Network:

The only way to save hundreds, arguably thousands of unborn lives, not, has been to destroy abortion buildings or kill abortinists.

Regina Dinwiddie:

I wouldn’t cry for him no more than I would if somebody dropped a rat and killed it.

Dan Holman:

Dan Holman: I was cheered by it because I knew that he wouldn’t be killing any more babies. And I expect that would happen when all legal and moral — legal ways of trying to stop it has been exhausted, as they have tried to prosecute him for giving abortions to people in violation of Kansas law.

……

Dan Holman: I believe that all abortionists are deserving of death, and they are not the only ones. There are politicians and judges and others who support this murder that are also deserving of death.

Drew Griffin: Would you care to name names, Dan?

Dan Holman: George Bush, Barack Obama. Any politician that gives our tax money to Planned Parenthood and organizations that kill babies are participating in the killing of innocent children deserve the same penalty.

  1. Larro says:

Wow! That last one is scary. Advocating assassination of the President?

  2. Schu says:

And we allow them to label themselves Christians. They sound more like the Brown Shirts of the Nazis. If we are lucky they might have their own “Night of the Long Knives.”

  3. Darryl Pierce says:

Notice how Dan Holman backpedaled on admitting it was immoral to kill?

  4. TinaFCD says:

"Leach said when human law conflicts with God’s Laws, “we ought to obey God rather than man.”

WELL THEY BETTER STONE THEIR CHILDREN AND LET MEN RAPE THEIR DAUGHTER…ETC, ETC, ETC.

Sorry, the comments kinda got to me.

  5. Fredrick Ingram says:

whenever I read stuff like this, it reminds me of why I dislike these religious nuts and why I hate organized religion. These people claim to be christians but actually they are just a bunch of hipocrits. I'm sure God has a plan for them, deep in the recesses of HELL

  6. Tawny says:

I always find it fascinating how people can be so in love with the unborn. Meanwhile, they've got nothing for the living.

Anti-abortionists don't adopt so many children we have none in orphanages. Anti-abortionists don't care about the fact giving birth is a process that even today can kill the mother. Anti-abortionists don't care that the No. 1 cause of death for children in the world is starvation.

Oh, but they LOVE fetuses when they are tucked away from view inside the mother. Anti-abortionists just don't care about what happens to babies once they are outside the mother and have needs, like to be fed.

Remember anti-abortionists: Dr. Tiller was an embryo once.

    • Schu says:

I feel that in reality they do not care about children in any condition, but rather in power. That is they want the power to decide who can have children, when or where. This is why you find most of these same people lamenting birth control. They feel that the only place for a woman is in the home, pregnant, and barefoot.

  7. GB1 says:

We need to organize ourselves, get angry, and fight back against this kind of bullshit. Whether these extremists like it or not, abortion is still legal in this country and Dr. Tiller was helping women in a very difficult circumstance. He put his life on the line to help women. I wish there was something we could do other than just gripe about these whackjobs.

I will not hesitate to state my feelings about this subject whenever I see or hear people like this celebrating a murder.

  8. Schu says:

But you are doing positive things by just allowing discussion about the assassination. There will not be a fast answer to this problem. These people as dedicated to their program as the Taliban are. With the Catholic Church’s position that live begins at conception and that even birth control is a sin, we are faced with an uphill fight. Remember that this battle is about who controls a woman. Does she control herself, or does the church control her.

  9. Tawny says:

Schu, I agree. There is a control issue at the root of this.

In a sense we are organizing when we comment on these issues on this website.

The murder of doctors who perform abortions is exactly the kind of intimidation method terrorists and the Taliban use. It is the use of deadly violence to inflict one's own agenda and ideas upon others.

Anti-abortionists who murder doctors are domestic terrorists no different than Timothy McVeigh and should be treated as such. They should be quickly executed.
