“It’s also a well-know[n] fact that the homosexual lifestyle or homosexual practice is very unhealthy. Government should discourage it and not elevate it to a level by calling it marriage. In an age where we worry about people being overweight and going after them and the government interfering in that, what is the government doing promoting a lifestyle that is inherently unhealthy?”

This is so bad, that I hardly know where to start. The first thing that I would like to examine is the well-known fact. No evidence, no examples, just more insanity. Sounds like a flustrated fat man screaming at the world.

It is a matter of empirical fact that most homosexual activity is more dangerous than most heterosexual activity--it's just not polite to talk about it.

Some people have sexual appetites that are less healthy than others', some people have food appetites that are less healthy than others'. Okay. It's none of our government's business and certainly not a reason for state-sponsored discrimination. That's what's offensive about this quote.

What bothers me is that some of the same people who think it should be the state's responsibility to police health outcomes, reject the same logic when applied to sexual activity (most Democrats)

Or the others who supposedly support sodomy laws in the interest of public health, but think subsidizing universal health care is a bridge too far (many Republicans)

Hypocrites, the lot of them, voting on their personal prejudice and ignorance rather than any fair and defensible principle.

What stupidity? Studies have shown those who engage in homosexual activity have a decrease in life expectancy of twenty years. To put that in perspective, smoking only cuts off ten years.
