... (0 comments)Former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura has been scorching a bloody path through Outer Wingnutistan over the last few days. His unequivocal condemnation of torture and the twisted sociopaths who apologize for it has been nothing short of amazing.
Here he is on Fox & Friends (corrected):
In this clip, he handed Elizabeth Hasselbeck her ass on The View:
On Larry King, Ventura gave us one of his most memorable lines, “You give me a waterboard, Dick Cheney and one hour, and I’ll have him confess to the Sharon Tate murders”:
Will someone please tell me why the Democratic Party is infested with so many cowering mealy-mouthed investigation-phobic “centrists” like Harold Ford and too few people with real balls like Jesse Ventura?
I can hardly stand to watch the Sunday morning talkfests anymore because I’m sure I’ll be treated to hours of slimy douchebiscuits like Harold Ford doing everything in their power to repeat GOP talking points in order to burnish their “moderate” street cred.
More full-throated, bang-on-the-table, rage-filled condemnation of torture and the psychopaths who defend its use, please…

It’s amazing to me that Mitt Romney brings up France as a scary comparison point to himself so often when he spent years there and speaks the language. It’s such a minor point, but telling. Jesse Ventura SHOULD run for President against OBAMA next time around.
Not only would it make for great press, many issues would and should be debated.
The Republican Party is dieing, so bring on the Independants that have something to offer the American public, rather than a class of corporate-loving losers.
Mat the best candidate FOR AMERICA win!
Wow! Politics.. nice post
As i remember Jesse Ventura is a Navy SEAL
yes, he was — and he went through SERE training. He definitely knows what he's talking about

I just saw the clip of Ventura on Hannity's show and was really impressed. He simply refused to let Hannity spew his nonsense. Hannity (and his colleagues) like to start making a statement by stating a falsehood (or something dubious) as truth and then basing the rest of their statement on that starting point. Ventura wouldn't let him do it, which was awesome. He called Hannity on it the moment he started, so Hannity never had a chance to manipulate the conversation the way he usually does.
Simply brilliant. We need more of that.
some of the mealy-mouthed cowards in the Dem leadership could learn a thing or two from Ventura (especially Harry NIMBY Reid). it never ceases to amaze me how few people in national leadership positions really speak their mind. it's always squishy non-thoughts designed to avoid the greatest controversy possible.
I am so with you on this post.
If Harry Reid had half the stones that either Nancy Pelosi or Hillary Clinton has, he would have exactly one. Disgusting
amen. i just wrote a post on my growing loathing of Cowardly Reid :http://www.librarygrape.com/2009/05/harry-reid-is…
Fortunately Democrats engage each other in lively debates, and challenge each other on their beliefs, something that the current GOP does not allow. Unfortunately, this makes some in the party seek compromise where compromise should never be allow. This is a current example of someone not compromising his principles, and you have to admire him for it.
you make a good point. take career legislators (like Harry Reid) for example. after a while, they see everything as a political game. some of the worst view every position they should take as the middle point between the two opposite sides. there are certain things, like torture and genocide, that brook no compromise
I saw a clip of Mr. Ventura on the Larry King Live show. I definitely would vote for him. I wish he had mentioned that Dick "Clearly he is a coward" Cheney moved his company Halliburton to Dubai to avoid taxes, after they made billions of dollars on the blood and bodies of our troops and the Iraqis. Cheney's wearing of a flag lapel pin is an example of what Rush "The Cysto Kid" Limbaugh called, "Symbolism over substance," although he intended it as an attack on liberals.
Jesse Ventura has great cred in Human Rights but gets air time because he is an Economic Libertarian, and the past Administration is as good an argument against Economic Libertarianism is it gets. There are many people who could easily match Ventura on Human Rights, but opposing Libertarian Feral Economics means that they will never see a big Media TV camera.
Watch Democracy Now and see how noticeable the differences are.
You know the country has gone to hell when Jesse Ventura is the only guy getting airtime who makes sense.
The Democratic party is led by cowards and fools…but they are the lesser of two evils compared to the criminals thugs running the republican party.
