Leaving aside how much the story pissed off the Catholic Church (which is great), the silver screen adaptaption of The Da Vinci Code was a really shitty movie. To think that it made $760 million just boggles the mind. It just goes to show you that a shitty movie with a clever premise can sop up the dollars from the unsuspecting public like nothing otherwise imaginable. Feh.

I liked the book, it was quite the cliffhanger. The cospiracy-theories are another matter.
I liked the books while I read it, trusting the preface about it being constrained by historical fact. However after finding out that none of it was based on any semblance of real history, I felt rather cheated. It was a rather cheap and easy way to provide cliffhangers.
