I hardly have words to describe to what degree Minnesota Representative Michele Bachmann is a flaming, unstable lunatic:
Bachmann has “introduced a resolution that would bar the dollar from being replaced by any foreign currency.”That’s right folks. In the face of absolutely no one suggesting that such a thing take place, a sitting U.S. member of Congress introduced a resolution to affirm that the U.S. Dollar would not be replaced by any other currency. Seriously!“She’s talking about the United States,” [Bachmann’s spokesperson, Debbee] Keller said. “This legislation would ensure that the U.S. dollar remain the currency of the United States.”
Of course, no one had been discussing any change in U.S. currency in the first place.
Ms. Bachmann is a disgrace to her office, her state, her gender and the human race. Will someone please make this rampant Republican insanity stop!
Update: A commenter at Wonkette sums it up best:

Both parties, especially in the hyper-partisan House, elect goobers. But Michele Bachmann is an amazingly idiotic goober. Here’s a great wrapup of the untethered nonsense that routinely spews forth from the deranged Bachmann:

It’s amazing to me that Mitt Romney brings up France as a scary comparison point to himself so often when he spent years there and speaks the language. It’s such a minor point, but telling. It's almost as if politicians like Bachman are playing on the paranoia of China wanting to institute a "new" currency to counteract the dollar.
Jebus! This doesn't mean the US dollar will go extinct and that the US will have to adopt another currency.
It's not the idiocy of this politician that bothers me so much as the sheep who buy into this garbage.
as i understand it, a big secret thing in the fundamentalist's vision of the "End of Days" is the imposition of one world currency, which will help usher in the antichrist. i really think bachmann believes this shit!
With Chairman Zero steering the nation straight in to the mountainside, it is not too bad an idea to enact such legislation because we will never know what traitorous insanity these communists will come up with next. Piss on you.
Nothing like an intelligent fundamentalist reply. Preach more hatred, avoid the responsibilities that 8 years of GOP leadership screw ups gave up, and of course blame the black man who is president.
somebody i saw put it really well the other day: it’s like a gambling-addicted alcoholic father went on an 8-year bender, plunged the family $6+ trillion in debt and then sobered up when he came home and beat his wife for proposing to spend money to fix up the car.
sigh.
Just more Republican smokescreen, trying to cover up the economical disaster that their failed policies caused. Who better to distract us from the current crop of GOP infidelities and the buying of the congressmen by the corporations over health care and financial reorganization that the mad hatter of the GOP. By the way black helicopters we threw out captain zero in 2008 and are trying to regain control of the flaming wreak that he left us.
You mean the Carter/Clinton/Dodd/BarneyFrank/FranklinRaines policy requiring banks to make fraudulent home loans? Is that the policy you mean?——-Every policy that liberal George Bush had, Obuma has TRIPLED. Oh for the days when a Republican Congress ousted the idea of government run healthcare and forced our chief sexual harasser to sign WELFARE REFORM. We need more of that kind of reform.
i really wish someone would do a deep study of the frothing hatred that some quarters feel for democrats. i’ve never been able to understand what underlies it all, from a fundamental perspective.
oh my another kool aid drinker! A liberal George Bush!!! This child is so far right that he makes the skin heads look moderate!
aside: doesn’t it suck that kool-aid became associated with mass murder. damn you jim jones for circumscribing my beverage choices!
