If you want my on-the-spot reaction to John Stewart’s epic smackdown of Jim Cramer on last night’s Daily Show, check it out here. For even more reaction from all over the Interwebs, check out this great summary.

If you want to watch the full video, in all its glory, here it is:

Upon rewatching the video, I have to say that this was one of my favorite moments:
When Cramer pointed out that there is a market for his brand of hyperbolic investment analysis, Stewart curtly responded that “there’s [also] a market for cocaine and hookers.”
Update: Check out some of Stewart’s greatest hits from the past: the Crossfire showdown, the Blitzer take-down, the worst interview in Chris Matthews’ life, and the sinking of Jonah’s whale. Good times.

This was awesome, and imo, better than the Crossfire ass-kicking. He actually took a specific issue and called Kramer out for not doing his job as a media personality. Crossfire was great, don't get me wrong, but he was simply attacking the shows general ineptitude. The Kramer fight illuminated the failure of an entire network to do the jobs they are expected to do. Instant classic.

amen. although i give cramer some credit entering the lions den. that said, i think i saw cramer crap himself in the middle of the segment. nbc obviously realized how damaging the segment was, considering that they put out a DONT TALK ABOUT CRAMER/STEWART diktat today
